2016-17

Impressions of seemingly inconsequential, commonplace images derived from pictures imprinted on my retina, my camera and my memory are superimposed over free-hand semi-abstract backgrounds. Poles, flowers, buildings, animals and other mundane images are partially rendered, disconnected from their original context, defamiliarized and thrust into landscapes that are seemingly local and familiar, yet at the same time feel distant and foreign.

The result is enigmatic, examining the often destructive role we humans play within our environment while resonating our insignificance and alienation from our surroundings.
